"Source Code" releases in a single Blu-ray disc featuring a fast-paced sci-fi thriller from Duncan Jones, the filmmaker who made a name for himself in his critically acclaimed 2009 debut feature "Moon." Although this sophomore piece is not as intellectually compelling and is clearly not an independent motion picture work like his first film, the young and promising director still creates scenes that interestingly unveil themselves in unique and entertaining ways. The 93-minute film features Jake Gyllenhaal as a military man in a mission to stop the bombing of a commuter train by inhabiting the body of one of the passengers.

It is interesting to note that new director Duncan Jones, the son of English rock star David Bowie, has transcended the boundaries of living under his father's fame. With the kind of legacy of his father in the fields of music as a musician and arranger and filmmaking as an actor, composer, and producer, it is a tough call for a son to make a name for himself, especially in relatively the same field, without encountering trivialized treatment and controversies.
