It explores the life of the teen Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) who gets stolen from her royal parents as an infant and raised by the villainous Mother Gothel (Donny Murphy) who uses Rapunzel's magical golden hair to keep herself young. Soon, she meets the vain thief Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) who helps her in her first encounter with the world outside her towering prison.
