What is Anaglyph 3D? - Yahoo! Movies
Showing 3D movies in theaters started with the use of red and cyan glasses during the 1950s. Then it resurfaced around the dawn of the new millennium mostly using polarized 3D glasses and shutter 3D glasses. Before these newer technologies, the pioneer 3D system used was called the anaglyph 3D system. It was initially meant to view still images with three-dimensional depth until the film industry and other related fields discovered its potential for a larger market of 3D-savvy audiences.
