The Origin and History of Robert Howard's 'Conan the Barbarian' - Yahoo! Movies

Long before the films that featured Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1982 and 1984 and Jason Momoa in 2011, "Conan the Barbarian" began as a character creation of Robert Howard, an American author known for his pulp fiction work in diverse genres. In many writings from books to websites, he is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery sub-genre. His character Conan has now become a viable franchise known for its many licensed books, comics, TV programs, video games, and films.
